An educational programme from our permanent offer The Role of Art / Roles in Art, connected with the exhibitions Cyberlemon and Point of View 3: Balance.
Role: Viewer
What all is hidden under the term “contemporary art”, and what paths does art open to us? What is a work of art, and how can we recognise it? And where is the line between a work and its author? And where, on the other hand, is the line between a work of art and the person viewing it? And what plays a bigger role – the story of the work itself or the life story of the artist?
In this programme, the belief that the viewer is a co-creator of the work forms the main premise for an exciting investigation: the search for artworks versus everyday objects in the gallery space. Participants are encouraged to actively express themselves during the interactive tour of the current exhibitions as well as in the art workshop. And the various clues lead to the realisation that everyone can recognise art and that it can even be made from the contents of your own pockets.
