A teaching workshop in the framework of the FALL festival and connected with the exhibition Point of View: Identity

In the best case, today’s information overload and all the different communication platforms and strategies train our ability to distinguish and choose – to be able to recognise the borders of facts, opinions, or manipulations. In a first for teachers, the educational programme The Truth, or a Lie? connects contemporary art formats with the tools of media education. The programme deliberately utilises the educational exhibition Point of View: Identity. Identification is one of the factors that influence our decisions: “Is what I see and hear the truth, or a lie?”

Karolína Voleská (*1996) earned a bachelor’s degree from the Object-Space-Action Studio at the Faculty of Art and Design of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Department of Theory and History of Art at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague. She is a visual artist and independent curator of contemporary art. Apart from the Czech Republic, she has also exhibited her work in, among other places, Portugal and Italy. She deals with contemporary art and its feminist and environmental reflections. In addition to her own theoretical-artistic work, she focuses on gallery education.
