An open family workshop for big and small; recommended for children aged nine and up or younger children with a guardian

Set off on a little textile adventure, and help Nitka overcome obstacles. Cross the abyss, crawl through the thicket, escape the labyrinth… A sewing workshop for those who’d like to discover the unconventional possibilities of embroidery, led by artist, graphic designer, and illustrator Eva Volfová.

Eva Volfová is an artist, graphic designer, illustrator, art teacher, author, and educational programme instructor. She graduated from the Textile Studio of the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague as well as the Centre for Lifelong Learning at Charles University. She works with textiles and thread as well screen printing, creating series of images that tell stories that are a sensitive and playful synthesis of textile and graphic work. She began her collaboration with the publishing house Baobab with the book Kočička z kávové pěny (The coffee foam cat, 2006). Her most recent book, Nitka a zatoulaný knoflíček (The little thread and the stray button), won the 2023 Zlatá Stuha Award.
